Our lawful basis
We process personal information where necessary to provide the assessment and services you request and where we have a legitimate interest in operating, improving and responding to enquiries generated through the service.
Where consent is legally required for a particular use of your information, including certain forms of electronic marketing, we will obtain that consent separately.
Completing the assessment does not automatically opt you into unrelated marketing communications.
Automated scoring
The Horizon Solar Qualifier automatically analyses the answers you provide to generate a solar suitability score and an indication of buying intent.
These scores are designed to provide guidance and help prioritise enquiries. They are not a guarantee that your property is suitable for solar, an installation recommendation, financial advice or a formal quotation.
A full assessment by a suitably qualified installer may be required before an installation can be recommended.
Sharing your information
If you choose to continue from your results and request a solar quotation through our trusted installation partner, you may be directed to Blue Ape Renewables.
Blue Ape Renewables operates its own quotation process and privacy practices.
Where personal information is transferred directly by Horizon Living Group to an installation partner, we will make this clear to you at the point your information is collected or transferred and obtain any consent required by law.
We may also use trusted service providers to operate the qualifier, host information, deliver emails and provide technical infrastructure. These providers process information only as required to provide those services.
We do not sell your personal information to data brokers.
Emails and marketing
We may send service communications necessary to provide the assessment you requested, including your personalised results.
We will not treat completion of the assessment alone as consent to receive unrelated promotional emails, texts or other electronic marketing where separate consent is required.
If you separately choose to receive marketing communications, you can withdraw that consent at any time.
How long we keep your information
We retain assessment and enquiry information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including managing enquiries, maintaining appropriate business records, analysing the performance of the service and meeting legal or regulatory requirements.
We periodically review the information we hold and delete or anonymise information when it is no longer required.
How we protect your information
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or loss.
No internet based service can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard the information entrusted to us.
International data processing
Some technology providers used to operate the qualifier or deliver communications may process information outside the United Kingdom.
Where this occurs, we require appropriate safeguards to be used in accordance with applicable UK data protection law.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Ask us to delete your information
- Ask us to restrict certain processing
- Object to certain uses of your information
- Request transfer of information where applicable
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you believe your personal information has been handled improperly.
